What can Berlin’s most famous ‘currywurst’ (curried sausage) snack bar teach us about strategic positioning? Among other things, that it is sometimes better to do nothing than to run around in a frenzy. Prof. Dr. Veit Etzold and Dr. Urs Müller of the European School of Management and Technology won the European Foundation for Management Development award in the “Family Business” category for this case study about Konnopke’s Imbiss – and made it into the international Financial Times and in the German BILD newspaper.
This case study was written with the help of Dirk Harbecke, the CEO of African Development Corporation, and deals with the acquisition of the Nile Commercial Bank of South Sudan.
