Every strategy needs the right story. Just as a strategy defines the path to the goal, a story shows the way from the beginning to the happy end. If you can tell stories you have a clear advantage when dealing with complex turnarounds, change initiatives or selling high-priced products and services.
Stories are simple, attract attention and stick in the audience’s minds. The good news is: everyone is a storyteller. From the start of human history, people have told stories describing the ‘best practices’ that helped them secure their survival. That’s why the bouncer in the brain lets stories come straight in, while fact-heavy reports dressed up in PowerPoint are kept waiting outside.
